- Why does the packaging say ‘ready to cook’ when beansprouts can be eaten raw?
From a micro viewpoint, due to the nature of the product and the way it is grown, Dawndew Salad strongly advises all consumers to wash and thoroughly cook beansprouts prior to consumption.
- Why does the packaging say ‘may contain traces of nuts?’
The chances of the product containing nut traces are negligible because the seed is washed prior to use and the crop is frequently irrigated as it grows. However, nut traces are theoretically possible from the mung bean which is grown in China, on land that may have been used previously for growing ground nuts. In view of Food Standard Agency legislation relating to allergen control and labelling, Dawndew Salad responsibly exercises caution.
