Dawndew Salad Cress

Description – A traditional British grown salad garnish, with a dark green clover shaped leaf and a slightly peppery taste.

Use – Great for adding flavour, colour and texture to an egg mayonnaise sandwich; for adding a decorative garnish or use as a salad ingredient.

Growing Conditions – Growing naturally under grass, without the use of pesticides.

Presentation and Pack Sizes

Cut, Washed Salad Cress – Various weights packed in tinted food grade polythene bags, packed in plastic returnable crates or cardboard boxes.

Advantages of Cut, Washed Salad Cress – Ready and easy to use.
Guaranteed minimum weight of product; ideal for costing up a product or recipe. A reduction in packaging per gram and associated waste and handling costs.

Uncut, Growing Salad Cress – Sold as a ‘growing’ product in a peat or ‘peat free’ medium. The punnets available are tall, clear or coloured, with either 12 or 16 in each cardboard outer.

Alternatively, our ‘Dawndew Matpack’ is a peat free product which contains the equivalent of 20 punnets of Salad Cress per box. This product is grown in 4 shallow trays.

Labelling is optional.

Advantages of ‘peat free’ Salad Cress – Clean in appearance; it keeps the ‘dirt’ associated with peat, out of the kitchen.
