ENVIRONMENTALLY - Dawndew Salad is committed to a Policy of protection and the minimisation of damage to the environment. This is achieved through -
- Recycling waste products such as packaging.
- Minimising as far as reasonable practical the quantity of packaging used for our products.
- The introduction of a ‘peat free’ alternative for our salad cress. This has significantly reduced our peat consumption and the depletion of a natural resource.
- Through the introduction of mechanisms, such as heat -saving blinds and thermostatic controlled ventilation systems in our greenhouses, we use any energy sparingly.
- By offering customers’ an opportunity of collecting produce from our ‘back door,’ and by actively seeking back hauling opportunities, we seek to reduce any unnecessary ‘food miles.’
SOCIALLY - Dawndew Salad supports local charities and schools through regular donations, sponsorship and advertising.
ETHICALLY - Dawndew Salad is committed to responsible and ethical trading, in accordance with ‘The Ethical Trading Initiative.’ The Company is a member of SEDEX.
